We’re founded on freelance business education and community-building in Berlin. There are three core topic groups in our community: business advice on marketing/sales/business tools/business growth, finding work opportunities, and sharing business knowledge with other community members. Other topic posts may not be approved in our community.
Community Guidelines
Please kindly consider our community rules when interacting in our Facebook group.
Friendliness towards mistakes. We’re human, and we’re all learning, mistakes can happen, so please be kind and help other members to grow from faux pas.
No promotions. Give more to this group than you take. Self-promotion, spam and irrelevant links aren’t allowed. The exception is on allowed threads. If you’re promoting yourself in a post, it’ll most likely be deleted.
No hate speech or bullying. Make sure everyone feels safe. Bullying of any kind isn’t allowed and degrading comments about things such as race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.
Zero tolerance policy. We have an absolute zero tolerance for discriminating, harassing, excluding, bullying, gaslighting, victim blaming, patronizing behaviors—and these behaviors have no space in our community.
Access rules. Group moderators have the right to decline invitations from individuals whose profile pictures or names are not clearly identifiable as real person or as woman. We will always do our best to double-check and ask with a Facebook direct message in case of ambiguity and, in order to keep the community safe, secure that all people accessing the group respect the community guidelines and purpose.
Be kind. We’re all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let’s treat everyone with respect. Healthy debate is natural, but kindness is required. We’re a professional group and work to build each other up (and not down). If you’re rude, condescending, snarky, or disrespectful to anyone within the group, you will be removed and banned without warning.
Respect everyone’s privacy. Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private. What’s shared in the group should stay in the group. When it comes to photography and videos, the moderators always do our best to ask permission before posting in the Facebook group. If you at any time feel uneasy, reach out to Megan Thudium.
Our values
We foster education. We share our freelance experiences, give feedback, part knowledge, ask questions, and organize monthly workshops.
We collaborate. The Freelancing Womxn Database is a resource to find a freelancer or collaborate with a freelancer in Berlin.
We’re social. We believe in the power of coming together to share and encourage.
We’re inclusive. Our community stands for openness, inclusion, and diversity. We offer our programs and activities to female-identifying individuals including non-binary, gender non-conforming individuals, and transwomen. We’re happy to welcome every woman that shows respect, openness, and curiosity towards other women’s voices and experiences. We welcome women from every background; coming from every socio-cultural and economic background, from every nationality, belonging to every religion, identifying with every sexual orientation and gender identity. We especially encourage womxn from minorities or from marginalized positions to think of our space as a safe space for their voice and experience to be expressed and heard loud. We put our best effort to make sure that the space stays safe and rules and values are respected and attended by every member. We work to include women with visible and invisible disabilities to be part of our community because we believe that accessibility is an integral value of our community. We want to give every woman, from every background and of every kind the physical and virtual chance to join our space and our activities and contribute to the growth and diversity of who we are and what we do.
*We stand for Diversity and Inclusion. It’s a group welcoming all individuals identifying as womxn to join. Transwomen, nonbinary individuals, intersex individuals, womxn of color, black womxn, womxn from minorities, womxn with visible and not visible disability, womxn from all backgrounds, language and religion can find their space here.
